Removing your press ons

Learn how to gently and carefully remove your press-on nails without damaging your natural nails. Discover our tips and tricks for easy and effective removal and aftercare.

If you have prepared your natural nails for long-term wear but want to remove them again after a short time, this can cause damage to your natural nail.

Preparation

Before you begin removing your nails, soak them in warm water. Add a little oil and dish soap to speed up the process. Let them soak for at least 15 minutes to allow the adhesive to soften. If you applied your press-ons with liquid nail glue, they'll be easiest to remove once they've loosened a bit around the edges.

Detachment of the nails

Make sure the adhesive has softened and the press-ons move freely before you begin removing them. You can easily test this by gently lifting the press-ons at the edge with a rosewood stick.

Use gentle pressure to carefully remove the nails, taking care not to damage the natural nail.

Aftercare

Thoroughly clean the natural nail of any residue from the old glue, just like you would your press-on nails.

Store your press-on nails carefully so you can reuse them. Don't forget to moisturize your cuticles with nail oil and treat your skin with a generous helping of nourishing hand cream.
